Keep it simple with a standard table 👍
A standard table is used to create a simple, clear approach:
No need for many views here, the Action Log just needs to be simple, clear and fast to fill out.
How to build this 🔨
We used a Standard Table, kept the View Settings simple and used the following Fields:
- Title- Text field. Avoid Rich Text, here, to avoid any lengthy titles
- Owner- People and Groups. No harm in having a Multiple People and Groups Field here, just depends how you want Action ownership to work
- Date- I have used a Date and Time Field here, perfect for logging meetings but adds a little layer of complexity you may wish to avoid.
- RAG- Single Choice Field used here to allow a clear and decisive choice of status to be used.
How this could be improved 🔍
- Add a Description Field to add more detail to the Action
- Add more clarity around Action status- possibly a RAG status doesn't suit and you need more clarity? Maybe a Yes/No Field will allow more clarity.
- Add an Update field- I would use a Text Field here... always encourage users to keep information brief and concise
