'Why can't I do this? Why can't I see this? Why does your screen look different to mine' 🤔 The top three questions we get from our customers. The answer, quite often, sits in the mysterious World of Licenses
If you were part of the team procuring edison365 then you should be an expert at this but, we know many will need a refresher or would like to understand more.
How we license the product is explained in detail on our website. Got some questions about licenses, then ask us anything.
Breaking it Down
Let's keep this simple...
If you want to do work in edison365 then you need a license. If you don't, then a free read only license will be enough (admin will still need to assign you this license).
We have two levels of license:
- Full- allows you to do whatever you want from administering the platform to creating records.
- Lite- allows you to have access to the features on the Personal Page such as completing tasks, reviews and items.
We then have different license types depending on what capabilities you have in the app. Want to know what capabilities are enabled? Then just look to the left of your app screen:
We have three options- Base, Standard, Professional and each can do different things. Knowing this will help you understand what you should be able to see and do:
Base | Standard | Professional | |
Ideas/Challenges | 👍 | 👍 | 👍 |
Business Case | 👍 | 👍 | |
Projects | 👍 |
For the above image, which of the following licenses do you think they have? 🥁 Correct- Professional License.
For a bonus point, are they a Full or Lite user? 🥁 Correct- they are Full user as they have a create button in the top left of their screen.
We don't need you to be an expert in our licensing model but if really helps for you to know what to expect. Remember, if you want to create and manage anything in the app, you need a Full license. Want to complete an assigned task, review or item? You need at least a Lite license.
