How to grant access on a project by project basis πŸ‘‘

So platform admins have been chosen, templates have been created. You have been added as an Owner to a template, meaning you can create a project!

When you create your project, User Roles will be automatically populated according to the template set up. But you can reassign permissions for your project, deciding who owns it, who can change the stage and who can edit and read data. Allowing you to control access to this specific project.

User roles explained❗

We chose our users based on what we need them to do:

  • Owners- The people responsible for inputting and keeping data up to date.
  • Process Managers- Responsible for moving the project through the stages.
  • Editors- Someone we might call on to complete a section of the project. They can edit data alongside the Owner, but the project won't be in their name.
  • Readers- Poor things, unable to edit data or change the stage of a project, these guys can only scroll and read πŸ˜’
  • Reviewers- You can only assign this user role when your project is in a review stage! Once in a review stage, you can add a reviewer to submit a decision for that specific stage.

How this could be improved πŸš€

  • Double up on user roles- In this example we have allowed the Owners to be Process Managers. This means, once they are satisfied the data has been entered correctly, they can change the stage or submit the project for review.
