edison365 Release Notes | April 2024

The First of Many: Welcome to Our Release Notes

Welcome to the first edition of our release notes! We will provide these alongside the latest release to bring you up to speed on everything we’re doing to improve your experience in edison365.  

We’re kicking things off with a big release packed full of new functionality for you to explore. We can’t wait to hear what you think of them, so be sure to let us know.  

β€―What’s new? 


General Updates 

  • The current β€˜create’ experience has been updated to a step-by-step wizard. 
    • Step-by-step guide to help you create  any record type. 
    • We’ve also added Owner(s) assignment to this experience. 
  • The eagle-eyed will notice that the sidebar capability icons have updated primary and secondary colours. 
  • Email notifications added for various actions and events in edison365. You’ll now receive emails when: 
    • A Record is created using a template. The Process Manager(s) will be notified. 
    • A Record is deleted. Owners and Process Managers are notified (excluding the user that triggered the event). 
    • Record is moved from one stage to another. The Owners and Process Managers will be notified (excluding the user that triggered the event). 
    • A Record enters a review stage. Reviewers will be notified. 
    • User is added to a role (Process Managers, Owners, Readers, Reviewers, Editors etc.) on a record. The User will be notified. 
    • User assigned a Task on a Schedule table. User notified. 
    • User assigned to a table item on List and Periodic tables. User notified. 
    • Table item updated within Record. Owners of the table item will be notified. 
    • Table items updated within the Personal page. Record Owners notified. NOTE: if auto-approve updates are enabled Owners will still be notified of the update.

Personal Page Updates 

  • Team members can submit task updates for approval by the Owners of the record . 
  • Team members can submit table item updates for approval by the Owners of the record.

Record Page Updates 

  • We've added aβ€―Review Changes β€―approval experience for Owners within theβ€― Type=Challenge, Menu=No, Dark Mode=Noβ€―action menu.β€― This is to support the introduction of Team Member task and table item updates. 
    • Approve or Reject updates to tasks on the Schedule Table 
    • Approve or Reject updates to items on the List or Periodic tables. 
    • Auto-approve configuration option added to record properties.β€― 
  • Added the ability to import Microsoft Project Plans (.mpp) files to Schedule tables. 
    • This is accessible within the settings-1 tableβ€―β€―settings menu. 
  • You can now create Projects from a Business Case. 
    • It’s important to note that Business Case Owners can only create using Project templates they are an Owner of. 
    • Added the option to copy data from Business Case to Project upon creation.β€―This is only available if the same fields or tables are present in both records.

Admin Updates 

  • Admins can now view the edison365 Default Configuration for all items. Certain elements are editable;
    • Fields: 
      • Label
      • Description
      • Configuration Options
    • Tables: 
      • Label
      • Description
      • Add and delete new fields
      • Set personal page behaviour for default and new fields
      • Create and delete new views.
    • Templates:
      • Label
      • Description
      • User roles
  • We’ve added Business Case Default configuration. Here’s what we’ve added and what they are called: 
    • Form: Default Case 
    • Card: Default Case 
    • Workflow: Basic Case 
    • Template: Basic Case 
  • Admins can now define table field behavior within the Personal Page 
    • These are the three behaviors supported: 
      • Editable (default behavior) 
      • Read Only 
      • Hidden
