Manually Refresh Your Data
Just added something but it's not showing up in your reports? π
Manually refreshing a Power BI online dataset ensures that your reports and dashboards reflect the most up-to-date data. Hereβs a step-by-step guide on how to manually refresh your data:
Step 1: Sign In to Power BI
First, navigate to the Power BI service at https://app.powerbi.com and sign in with your Microsoft account credentials.
Step 2: Navigate to Your Workspace
Once youβre signed in, navigate to the workspace that contains the dataset you want to refresh.
Credentials: For edison365, you need to choose "Anonymous Authentication" and "Skip Test Connection." Since your API key is a report parameter it should be able to connect and refresh data without logging into an account.
For the SharePoint apps, you need to have access to both the database and/or the SharePoint collection the app is hosted on.
Step 3: Open the Dataset Options
Find the dataset in the list, click on the βMore optionsβ button (represented by three dots), and then select βRefresh nowβ.
And thatβs it! Your dataset will now be refreshed, and the data in your reports and dashboards will update to reflect the most recent data from your data source. This method is great if you're testing your reports, but for reports you're sharing, or reports being consumed by your business, you should set up a scheduled refresh.
