Here are some of our broad goals over the next few months:

  • Release features that achieve the same functionality you love from our legacy products but with a fresh feel.
  • New features that we know our customers will love (after all, so many are their ideas and requests 🀩)
  • Rich APIs to access your data, build your reports and connect with other systems
  • Seamless AI integration to bounce ideas off of - meet edi ✨

Roadmap

We have been working super hard behind the scenes to jam even more functionality into the new edison365. We want you to get a glimpse into this work and see how your feedback makes its way all the way to the live product. A note on timelines:

Live means this functionality was in the latest release. Check out the Release Notes at the bottom of this article for more details.

Edison365 Icons_Rainbow Star

In Testing means we have passed the initial development hurdles and are tweaking things before the final release. We can't wait to share these new features with you in the next couple weeks!

Edison365 Icons_Rainbow RocketIn Development means this is what the developers are working on right now. Development work is challenging with lots of ups and downs, so they're still at least a month or two away before testing.

In Planning means these are items on the backlog that we hope to get to as soon as we finish what we're working on right now. You might be seeing these features in the next three to six months and beyond.

Estimated Timeline Functionality Description

Freshly released... πŸ˜„

Personal Page Experience Unleash your Lite license users by allowing them to update an assigned Task or Item directly from the Personal Page. Clicking the Task name pulls up the corresponding table row for the user to fill out and submit to the record Owner for approval.
Approval Experience for Record Owners We're making approvals a breeze by allowing record Owners to auto-approve all or individually if you want to keep a close eye on changes.
Admin configuration experience for personal page updates Make sure Lite users focus on what they need to by allowing admins to define which fields on Schedule and List tables are editable.
MPP file import Allowing record Owners to import MPP files makes adding old and new Schedules super quick. Once imported your schedule will be the centerpiece in a driving the project to the finish line.
Creating a Project from a Business case A fresh face on creating a Project from a Business Case! We've added a brand new wizard to guide you through the process that allows you to pick and choose which data is mapped from one to the other. Data types must match (e.g. risks to risks, costs to costs), we can't compare apples and oranges! You must be an an owner of the Business Case and of the Template type for the Project.
New Record Creation experience A new wizard will guide you through the process of record creation. This makes it super easy to get started. Your new friend knows what fields are required and in what order to fill them outπŸ§™β€β™‚οΈ
View and edit some default config

Ever wanted a peak under the hood of the default configuration? You'll be delighted with this change. Open all Default configuration in read-only form. A subset of the Default configuration will also be editable.

Email notifications We know you've been missing them! About a dozen automatic email notifications for records events like when a record moves stage. Check out more on email notifications here.
Not too much longer to wait 🫨
Edison365 Icons_Rainbow Rocket

Azure AI 1st Release Meet edi! Your personal edison365 assistant. edi can create a set of projects tasks automagically so you don't have to stare at a blank page. Edit and upgrade the task easily from there so you're off in a flash. You'll be able to ask edi something like "Create a project schedule using best practices for baking a cake!" or you know... a marketing project, but cake is fun πŸŽ‚
Edison365 Icons_Rainbow Rocket Data population Add data to any stage of a workflow to automatically populate in a project at that stage. For example, say you have a set of risks that need to be assigned for all IT projects (Resource, Scope Creep. etc). List them in the Risk table at Stage 1 of the workflow and any IT project will already have them automatically. If the Risk table is marked as required before a review stage, it's ensured the risks will have to be filled out before review.
Edison365 Icons_Rainbow Rocket Versions Nervous about keeping track of changes? No more! Now you'll be able to create versions of a Business Case or Project either manually or automatically on stage changes. Versions save a snapshot of the record so you can see how data changes over time, or spot where an error occurred.
Edison365 Icons_Rainbow Rocket Calculated Fields Ddd more flavour to your calculations with the ability to have more than just numeric values automatically calculated. With our powerful expression builder, you will be able to automate project budgeting, add more detail to risk schedules and automate project status’ at the drop of a hat.
Edison365 Icons_Rainbow Rocket Calculated Fields in Tables Wanted to create a scoring matrix or other calculated fields in tables? You'll get free reign with this update. This nifty addition encourages you to use input more quantifiable data in tables and see the calculated fields do the work for you to analyze.
Edison365 Icons_Rainbow Rocket History Introducing the history log! Now you can see major actions that occured on the record like when it was created and when its stage was changed.
Edison365 Icons_Rainbow Rocket Calendar Updates Someone changing their schedule? No problem, you'll be able to update their calendar with no issue. Have a corporate holiday you want reflected? We're adding that option too.
Edison365 Icons_Rainbow Rocket User's Basic Data Saved for Reporting We want you to get all the best insights into your edison365 as easily as possible. This change allows us to finally store your Display Names (and limited other basic data) so you can use it for reporting purposes. Our default templates will update this change, so you can see names in the Owner field instead of their unique ID string.
 Plans for the future 😍

Programs V1

(included in Professional subscription)

Feel like you need a wider view of things? Make a Program record that you can associate Business Cases and Projects to even across types. This gives you a birds eye view of whichever elements are most important to a certain program. Note: Programs V2 will be a premium option.
Copy in Admin Configuration Need to make a new workflow similar to one you already have? Easily copy the workflow (field, table, etc) and begin editing from step 10 instead of scratch.

Audit Log

(optional paid add-on)

Need all the nitty-gritty details on changes? We will be able to provide this in an upcoming release. This will include a full audit of every change to a record.
Ideas and Challenges V1 We know you've been missing some of your favorite functionality! Ideas and Challenges are joining their friends in the new app. We can't wait to show you our fresh designs for the Innovation side of things.
SharePoint Document Storage We can't wait for you to be able to save your documents right in edison365 using a SharePoint embed. This allows you to host the documents securely in your own SharePoint (which edison365 gets a small window into) or we can host this SP tenant for you so there's no extra IT cost for you.
