Uncomplicate the Schedule Table

We know there's a ton of functionality in there, some of us just want to know what's going on when?? ⌚

The steps to success 🏆

Watch this series of gifs to watch a simple Schedule table come to life. You can follow along step by step to build your own table with any tweaks you want!

Configuration

When you select Schedule as the table type, there are 37 (!) fields automatically added. We know the default fields are intimidating, so this example shows you how to start simple. Most of these fields are built-in for resource management, and they can always be added back in. But don't worry, we don't have to use them all for every table. Watch as we just pare it down to the important ones for now:

View Settings

Once you've filled out a name you can create View Settings. You have to create at least one view to save the table.

These will appear for users to select from when they're filling out or viewing a table. More on this further down in the How this could be improved 🔍section.

Go down the list and hide any you don't need to show in that specific table view. You can also rearrange rows by dragging and dropping.

Adding to a Form

Open up the form you'd like this schedule table to live in. Drag and drop the table into an existing zone, or create a space for it all its own 🥰 Presto!

The Results

This simple view allows you to have minute-by-minute scheduling without looking like an over-complicated mess! Want to bake a cake? 🎂

Unfurl the Gantt Chart and see the data represented visually:

Note: The progress percentage is based on the assumption that the task of gathering ingredients is completed, while the preparation of the batter is halfway done. The remaining tasks are yet to be started. Adjust the progress percentages as you move forward with each task. Happy baking! 🧑‍🍳🥣

How this could be improved 🔍

Need to assign who's doing what? Add a new view that shows the assigned resource. Maybe you can outsource the ingredient gathering 🤔

Back in the View settings:

Create a new view called Resource and unhide the Assigned Resource field.
Now when you're ready to schedule who's doing what, you can swap to the new view and start assigning!
